The Eastern Mediterranean Regional office of the World Health organisation, also known as EMRO, is the regional office of the World Health Organization that serves 22 countries and territories in the Middle East, the North Africa, the Horn of Africa and Central Asia. It is one of the WHO's six regional offices around the world.〔(EMRO official website )〕 ==History== All the regional divisions of WHO were created between 1949 and 1952. They are based on article 44 of WHO's constitution, which allows the WHA to "establish a () regional organization to meet the special needs of (defined ) area".
